Vizag airport cleared for night landing
Visakhapatnam, Feb 29 (UNI) Strenuous efforts by the Indian Navy, despite manpower shortage, has made it possible for night landing facilities at the airport here.
The naval and defence personnel successfully completed the task of making night landing facilities for aircrafts, a spokesman of the Navy said.
The Director-General of Civil Aviation has issued a 'no objection' certificate to the Airport Authority of India (AAI) in this regard.
To meet the increasing demands of the locals, the Indian Navy has given the green signal to increase the operating hours of the airport from 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs daily, he said adding that operation of flights were expected to begin from March 30 this year.
