US, China signs military hotline pact
Shanghai, Feb. 29 : The United States and China today signed an agreement to establish a telephone hotline between their militaries, a US defence department official said.
The deal was signed in Shanghai alongside another one giving the United States access to China's military archives to search for missing servicemen from the Korean War and other conflicts, the official said.
China's state media sources also reported that the agreement had been signed.
The US official could not comment further on details surrounding the hotline, such as when it would begin, but more details were expected to be released at a briefing in Shanghai on Saturday, the News reported.
