Three renowned musical icons to present their concerts

Bangalore, Feb 29 (UNI) Three Padma award winners and icons of the Indian Music -- Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, M Balamurali Krishna and L Subramanian will perform on a single platform to raise funds for the cause of the children of unprotected lot in the society on March eight here.

Speaking to newsmen Mr Balakrishna Hegde, Chairman, Premanjali Trust which is celebrting sixth Premanjali Festival 'Resonance', said that this year three icons would perform at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium.

Mr Hegde said Premanjali Festival was envisioned with a two-fold objective, one was to augment funding for the trust and the other to bring some of the best cultural masterpieces to Garden city.

Earlier Premanjali has brought musical luminaries like Dr Mallika Sarabhai and Naseeruddhin Shah, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Dr Balamuralikrishna, Pt Briju Maharaj, Ustad Zakir Hussain and many others.

Premanjali Trust had over 800 children including destitute and physically challenged who were provided care in the areas of education, culture and sports. The trust also runs a centre for the visually impaired students with advanced computer facilities of higher education.

He said that the Puravankara Developers was the main sponsor for the event while HDFC is the co-sponsor and joined hands with them to support the noble cause.
