HEC scales new height in business growth
Ranchi, Feb 29 (UNI) The Heavy Electric Corporation achieved successive success in recent prestigious tender for new coal handling plant for Bhilai Steel Plant.
The HEC's bid for the coal handling plant, valued at Rs 500 crore, was declared the lowest bidder amidst stiff competition from M/S Larsen&Toubro, Macnally Bharat Engineering Co and Elecon Engineering Co, company sources said here today.
This will be the biggest turnkey job so far secured by HEC, company sources said here today.
The work will be awarded to the HEC by Bhilai Steel Plant very soon.
HEC officials from project division were deputed to Bhilai Steel Plant for this purpose.
HEC had made significant contribution in Bhilai Steel Plant in its initial phase by way of supply of large metallurgical equipment and felt proud by getting associated with its two major turnkey projects of ore handling plant and new coal handling plant valued at Rs 200 crore and Rs 500 crore respectively for seven mt expansion programme.
The project is to be completed within 30 months from the date of awrad of the order, sources added.
This turnkey work broadly comprises design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing&commissioning of the complete coal handling plant from concept to commissioning.
