Govt examining Ranga Chary committee report: minister
Hyderabad, Feb 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Minister D Srinivas today said the government was examining the recommendations of the Ranga Chary Committee on the possibility in implementing the Balakrishna Reddy Committee report, which was appointed in 1993 to look into the unified service rules for non-teaching staff in universities in the state.
The Ranga Chary Committee was appointed in 2004.
Replying to a question by D Rami Reddy (Cong), the Minister said the government had agreed to accept the Balakrishna Reddy Committee recommendations regarding the redesignation of posts and reduction of the number of cadres.
The committee had suggested the rationalisation of non-teaching staff's designations, reduction of number from 1800 to 340, formulation of Uniform cadre rules based on the character and functions of various posts, promotion avenues and incentives for acquiring higher qualifications.
Mr Srinivas said the government had referred the matter relating to the implementation of Revised Pay Scales for such redesignated posts to the Pay Revision Commission.
