CPI(M) leader shot dead in Bengal
Belpahari, Feb 29 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants today gunned down CPI(M) leader Subhas Mahato near Chhurimara police camp under Belphari Police Station.
Superintendent of Police of West Midnapore district R Rajshekharan said the deceased was returning home at Chhurimara after a party meeting when the incident occurred.
Police had launched a massive combing operation to nab the kilers.
None had been arrested so far in this connection.
The miscreants had reportedly fled to adjacent Singhbhum district in Jharkhand.
Details were still awaited.
