Couple killed in road mishap in Punjab
Sangrur, Feb 29 (UNI) A Panchkula-based couple was killed and a woman was injured when the car in which they were travelling fell into a roadside ditch near Kalaudi village on Patiala-Sangrur road today, police here said.
The victims were identified as Ashwani Goel and his wife Savita, residents of Panchkula near Chandigarh. The injured, identified as Sunita Gupta was admitted to a hospital in Patiala.
According to police, Ashwani Goel, who was driving the car lost control over the wheels while trying to save a cow which was crossing the road. The car fell into a roadside ditch killing the husband and wife on the spot and injuring the third occupan.
The police registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.
