Chidambaram a hypocrite?
New Delhi, Feb 29 (UNI) Former Union Minister and BJP leader Vijay Goel today said the Rs 60,000 crore loan waiver for farmers by Finance Minister P Chidambaram showed how hypocritical he is as he had vehemently opposed freebees like free power and water. Reacting to the budget proposals, Mr Goyal said without making any provision to check price rise the government had allowed entry of multi-national companies in the retail sector and it will prove disastrous for the national economy. Once the MNCs would be in the country they would render 10 crore people unemployed, who are otherwise gainfully employed.
He said even the loan waiver had come too late and nobody knew from where the money for this waiver would come. Huge sections of farmers who had availed loans from money lenders did not get any relief from the Finance Minister, he said.
