Budget lacks vision, strategy of reforms: Swamy

Chennai, Feb 29 (UNI) Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today described the Union Budget as 'hotch-potch retrogade budget, lacking vision, strategy of reforms or direction.' Dr Swamy, in a statement here said the claims made by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram of accelerating growth in GDP, highest output of foodgrains, huge institutional credit for agriculture and impressive performance under the Bharat Nirman in 2007-08 were all ''misleading and decieving.'' He said there was also no long term scheme for desperate farmers committing suicides, salaried persons suffering from inflation, small and medium industries suffocated by globalisation and for stabilising the volatile stock market.
