2 criminals held in police encounter in UP

Jaunpur, Feb 29: Police have arrested two members of a notorious inter-district gang after an encounter here.

The outlaws were nailed near Saidanpur railway crossing in Line Bazar area late last night, Superintendent of Police (SP) Lalji Shukla said today.

The arrested were identified as Vinod Yadav and Lakhan Yadav of Sabhapati gang.

Two pistols, cartridges and some drugs were seized from their possession, the SP informed, adding, the accused would be booked under the Gangster Act.

A search to nab the absconding members of the syndicate was on.

Meanwhile, the police team would be rewarded with Rs 2,500.
