10 killed, 7 injured in Nashik accident

Nashik, Feb 29 (UNI) At least 10 people were killed and seven seriously injured in a head-on collision between a jeep and a truckt Kedrai Phata near Wadalibhoi town on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway number three here today.

There were 19 people in the jeep. Condition of all the seven injured was said to be critical, while two victims who sustained minor injuries, were later discharged.

Most of the victims were occupants of the jeep, hailing from various parts of the District. Of the ten six deceased have been identified as Laxman Karbhari Tahme (28) and Shakir Ahmed Razzaq Ali (24) from Malegaon, Sunita Santosh Bondawe (24), Aditya Santosh Bondawe (6) and Anjana Bhaskar Aher (45) from Nashike and Bhansaheb Pandurang Shinde (40) from Bharvihir.

The jeep was on its way to Nashik from Malegaon when it collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
