Three arrested with 5 kg charas in Jammu

Jammu, Feb 28 (UNI) Police have arrested three people and recovered five kilograms of charas from their possession in posh Trikuta Nagar locality here, sources said today.

Based on specific information, the police party conducted a surprise raid and apprehended three people in Trikuta Nagar area, the sources said.

''During frisking in apartments where these drug peddlers were putting up, we recovered five kilogram of charas from their possession,'' a senior police official told UNI.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Yaqoob, resident of Channi Himmat, Nasir Ahmed and Arshad Hussain, both residents of Anantnag, Srinagar.

Case under NDPS Act has been registered against them, the police said.
