Sugargrowers to hold dharna before Rajbhavan

Mysore, Feb 28(UNI) In protest against failure in providing relief to Sugarcane growers in the state the Karnataka State Sugar cane growers Association have decided to state dharna before Rajbhavan from March one.

Speaking to newspersons the the Association president Karubur Shanthakumar informed that the farmers resorting to agitation following failure of the state government to concede their demand to pay Rs 200 per tonne over and above the minimum support price fixed for the Sugarcane by the Union government.

All the sugarcane growers from the state would assemble before Rajbhavan in the agitation, Mr Shanthakumar added.
