Spurt in Maoist activity with leader's arrest

Barasat, Feb 28 (UNI) Maoist activity in North 24 Parganas has increased after the arrest of Maoist leader Himadri Sen Roy alias Somen from the district recently.

Police said here today that the ultras have been demanding unconditional release of their leader, who was taken into custody on police remand.

He further said that the rebels have also pasted posters on the walls of the Police Superintendent's residence adding that similar posters were found on the walls of the district and sessions court.

Meanwhile, all the posters were taken off and investigation were on to nab the ultras.
