Kohima, Feb 28 (UNI) The Nagaland Peoples Front(NPF) today condemned the Lok Sabha's approval to the imposition of President's rule in the state, which was tabled in the House on Tuesday by Minister of State for Home Affairs Shriprakash Jaiswal.

In a release, NPF associated press secretary Shilumar alleged that the Congress had forcibly and undemocratically passed the resolution a day ahead to justify and boost the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Nagaland.

He claimed that the imposition of President's rule was declared ''Illegal and unconstitutional by the apex court on February, 1, '' when the Supreme Court Divisional Bench, headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice C Paramasivar, dismissed and rejected the two writ petitions filed by nine dissident NPF and three Independent legislators, challenging the interim order passed by the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

Moreover, Gauhati High Court Divisional Bench admitted and heard the writ petition filed by the NPF challenging the Centre for imposition of President's rule in the state.

''When the guardian of the Constitution, the Supreme Court, in all fairness and totality, rejected and dismissed the imposition of President's rule in Nagaland, how come the Lok Sabha has passed such kind of resolution to gain cheap political mileage,'' the release stated.
