Prez to give silver trumpet, trumpet banner to PBG on March 1

New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will hand out the ceremonial silver trumpet and trumpet banner to the President's Bodyguard (PBG) on Saturday.

Briefing newspersons on the significance of the ceremony, PBG chief Col Ali Adil Mehmood said, '' This is done once in the tenure of the President and it proves a good motivational factor for the oldest unit of the Indian Army.'' ''It's a great honour for us and the President presenting us the silver trumpet and trumpet banner gives us a great joy,'' said Col Mehmood, adding that ''this age-old tradition keeps us going''.
