Kohima Feb 28 (UNI) The Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) today alleged that the speech of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here yesterday was self-contradictory.

Dr Singh, who was here yesterday for March five Assembly polls, had blamed the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) of misusing of funds but at same time also lauded the previous DAN government for implementing the Central schemes properly.

Addressing a press conference here this afternoon NPF president Shurhozelie, outgoing Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NPF secretary general Chubatemjen Ao Rio alleged that the Prime Minister has no time to visit Nagaland.

''He came to the state as the representative of Mrs Sonia Gandhi and as a Congressman, but not as the PM,'' he said accusing Dr Singh of declaring the four-lane highway from Dimapur to Kohima, the Airport at Chiethu and declaration of a new North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy.

''This was violation of code of conduct of Election Commission,'' he added.

On the allegation of law and order during the tenure of DAN, he said that it was very less in comparison to the 30-years of Congress rule in the state.

He also said that the Prime Minister's entire speech showed his unawareness about the state and its people.

On the allegation of withdrawal of Rs 430 crore by the Congress leader I Imkong last year, he said that Dr Singh tried to clarify that the amount was for various developmental schemes and spent accordingly on those schemes.
