Passenger launch capsized in Bangladesh, 30 bodies recovered
Dhaka, Feb 28 (UNI) At least 30 bodies have been recovered so far after a passenger launch with about 150 passengers on board turned turtle in the Buriganga river on the outskirts of capital Dhaka this afternoon.
Fire Brigade and Coast Guard divers continued search for bodies as the launch could not be salavged after five hours of the accident.
Police said the MV Sourav launch was sailing from Dhaka Sadarghat Terminal for Munshiganj but it soon capsized after being hit by a cargo carrying sand near the Buriganga First Bridge at Postogola at about 1500 hrs (local time).
The rescuers feared that the death toll may go up with the salvahe of the sunken launch.
