NCP expects loan waiver for farmers
Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said there was a possibility of farmers getting some good news in tomorrow's General Budget.
In a brief interaction with reporters, Mr Patil said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar had given indications of a loan waiver for farmers in the state.
Referring to the agitation of Shiv Sena on the issue, Mr Patil said the agitation will not have any impact on the people.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incidents of violence in Sangli over the screening of ''Jodhaa-Akbar'', he added.
