Naidu detained in Delhi on Feb 26: Speaker
Hyderabad, Feb 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today informed the House that Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu was detained by Delhi Police during a rally near Jantar Mantar on February 26.
The Speaker also informed the House that Mr Naidu, who was detained at 1530 hrs on that day under Section 26 of the Delhi Police Act, was later released at 1630 hrs.
It may be noted that the United National Progressive Alliance Convenor, along with alliance leaders, including UNPA Chairman Mulayam Singh, was protesting against the alleged failure of the Manmohan Singh Government to address the issues concerning the farmers.
