Lust for power makes father selfish
Kendrapara, Feb 28 (UNI) A father put his son's career at stake just to continue as the President of the Village Education Committee (VEC).
Raicharan Nayak, of Usama village under Mahakalpada block of Kendrapara district, forced his son Satyaranjan to continue in Class V for three consecutive years even though he has cleared the Annual Examination just to remain as the President of the Gokarneswar Primary School.
As per the guidelines, a person can remain the VEC as long his child studies in that school.
However, Mr Nayak said that he had asked his son to continue in the same class as he lacked the standard to study in the higher class but passed out by adopting foul means in the examination with the help of his teachers and friends.
