FDA arrested while accepting a bribe

Bangalore, Feb 28 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested a First Divisional Assistant of Bijapur for accepting a bribe for showing an official favour.

A Lokayukta press release said that Lakshman Saibanna Bajanthri, a First Divisional Assistant working in revenue department in Bijapur district had demanded Rs 15000 from Sharanappa Ningappa Manur to make an entry of High Court Stay order into revenue records.

In a trap today, Lokayukta police caught FDA red handed while accepting the bribe money from the complainant.

In another incident a special court which conducted the trial of SDA Tejappa, who was trapped by Lokayukta for having accepted a bribe money to show official favour, had convicted for one year Rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000.

The Hospet Lokayukta police had trapped Tejappa in 2003, also a revenue department employee and filed a case in 2004.
