AITUC to start signature campaign to protest govt's policies
Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) proposes to collect over one crore signatures against the Government's policies in the country, AITUC Maharashtra General Secretary Sukumar Damle said here today.
Members of AITUC have alleged that Left Parties had provided support to the UPA Government expecting a change in the policy direction which has not been the case in the last four years of UPA's rule.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Damle said that the AITUC will start a signature campaign all over the country pressing for their demands and submit the same to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
The major demands of AITUC include a curb on the rising inflation and monitoring of the public distribution system. The other demands are equal distribution of land, availability of easy loans, implementation of the workers policies and cancellation of the special economic zones (SEZs) in the country.
