Accidents leave five dead in Kerala
Kannur, Feb 28 (UNI) Five people, including two children and a woman, were today killed in separate road accidents in this district of Kerala.
Two youths were killed in an accident at Mangad near Dharmashala on National Highway when their bike collided with a lorry this morning. The deceased were identified as Irshad V (22) and pillion rider Khaleel (21), both hailing from Thrikaripur in Kasargod district.
In another accident at Edat Kannaghat near Payyanur, one woman was killed when a goods autorickshaw knocked her down, while waiting at a bus bay. The deceased was identified as M Padmavathi (48). Her relative M P Deepthi (22) was also injured in the accident.
In another accident, two students were killed and two others injured in an accident at Mattanur near Neduvatkunnu Kunjippali canal on Mattanur-Thalassery road this morning.
The students were returning home from Kunjippali Juma Masjid Madrasa, when a mini lorry lost control and ran over them.
The deceased were identified as Farsana (8) and her brother Muhammed Saris (6). Injured Rishana (7) and Mizuna (6) were admitted to a private hospital here.
