Snooker champion Vidya Pillai felicitated

Chennai, Feb 27: National Snooker champion Vidya Pillai was felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Billiards and Snooker Association (TNBSA) at a glittering function here last evening.

TNBSA President M C Manoj, former National Billiard Champion Kamala Chandrababu, coach Nadeem and members of the Association were present at the function, during which she was presented a cash award of Rs 25,000.''I hope this will be an inspiration for the juniors, so that we can have many more champions, and do the TNBSA and our country proud,'' Vidya later said.

The 30-year-old woman was selected by the BSFI to undergo a two-month training stint at the World Snooker Academy in the United Kingdom.
