UT to observe National Safety Day on March 4
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration would observe 37th National Safety Day on March 4.
UT Home Secretary Krishna Mohan said that a campaign will be started in the UT, with a view of generating awareness among public in general and the employees of industrial undertakings in particular, about the importance of occupational safety and health.
The Home Secretary averred that the theme of this year's campaign is "Ensure Safe and Healthy Workplaces". "The motive of the campaign is to generate awareness and renewing commitment of all the stakeholders such as employers, employees, trade unions, members of associations/institutions and general public." The campaign would contribute to the goal of integrating safety and health in the work activities and the daily life, he further added.
Mr Mohan said that Industry, Health, Environment and Public Relations Department have been asked to draw up programmes for observing the 'Safety Day'.
