Speaker not to accept TDP MLA's resignation forthwith
Hyderabad, Feb 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today made it clear that he was not in a position to straight away accept the resignation submitted by TDP legislator Ayyanna Patrudu.
When agitated TDP members raised the issue during the Question Hour, the Speaker said ''I cannot accept the resignation, till I speak to the legislator concerned.'' Irked by the police forcibly removing him for making way for Commercial Taxes Minister K Ramakrishna, the TDP MLA had faxed his resignation letter to the Speaker, the Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on February 24.
He was staging a dharna in protest against ''forcible acquisition'' of farm lands, when the alleged incident occurred.
