Opposition in Rajasthan hails rail budget

Jaipur, Feb 27 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Hemaram Chaudhary has welcomed the Railway budget saying the Railway Minister had taken due care of the common man, students, senior citizens and traders.

Reduction in freight on diesel and petrol would have a multifold impact on the price line of essential commodities, he said yesterday. He complimented Mr Lalu Prasad for announcing free monthly passes for students up to class XII and appointment of porters as gangsmen in the railway.

Congress state President CP Joshi expressed satisfaction over the Railway Minister's announcement for new Chetak Express between Udaipur and Delhi and launching of Garib Rath Express between Jaipur and Chandigarh.

Echoing similar view was Rajasthan Khadya Padarth Vyapar Sangh General Secretary Babu Lal Gupta saying the Railway Minister's decision of reducing second class fare and reforms in ticket issuance and reservation procedure would benefit the common man.
