Kozhikode, Feb 27: People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Abdul Naser Mahdani was admitted to a private hospital here today after he complained of uneasiness.

Stating that his condition was normal, the hospital sources, however, said he was under observation in the Intensive Care Unit. Mr Mahdani, who experienced uneasiness while attending a function at Manjeri in Malappuram district yesterday, was taken to a local hospital and later shifted to the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), party sources said.

His programmes were cancelled, they added. The PPP supremo, who was incarcerated in jail for nine years in connection with the 1998 Coimbatore serial bomb blast case, was acquitted in August last year.
