Haryana to collect Rs 1900 cr from stamp duty
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) The Haryana Revenue Department is expected to collect Rs 1900 crore from Stamp Duty and Registration Fees during the current financial year.
Stating this here today, Revenue Minister Savitri Jindal said the Department had collected a sum of over Rs 1381 crore during April to December, 2007 from Stamp and Registration as against over Rs 1356 crore collected during the corresponding period of last year.
Ms Jindal said the Department had started the process to update rules, regulations, manuals and Acts pertaining to various activities of the Revenue Department. The laws, rules and regulations which had lost their relevance had been identified and were proposed to be repealed whereas the remaining ones were being updated in a time bound manner, she added.
She said the scheme of computerisation of Land Records was in operation in all the districts of the state. Under the scheme, a sum of over Rs 15.75 crore had been received from the Central government and over Rs 11.54 crore had been spent so far.
An amount of Rs 3.78 crore had also been released to the Deputy Commissioners for setting up of computer centres at Sub-Divisional, District and Tehsil levels, she added.
