Govt concerned over terrorists' access to nuclear weapons

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) India today expressed serious concern about the heightened dangers of terrorists getting access to nuclear weapons and related materials.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukerjee, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha, said the government expects the states possessing nuclear weapons to take effective steps to ensure strict control over their nuclear weapons and related materials.

The government was committed to taking all necessary steps to protect national security, he added.
