Court allows Sukhbir to go abroad

Rupnagar, Feb 27 (UNI) Additional Sessions Judge M S Randhawa today granted permission to Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is an accused in disproportionate assets case against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and others, to go abroad from February 29 to March 7.

Sukhbir had sought the permission to visit Italy and Greece for motivating the Punjabis settled there to make investments in Punjab.

It may be mentioned that earlier Sukhbir had sought the permission to visit Italy and Greece from March 1 to 7, but later on he rescheduled his visit by a day. Thereafter he filed a fresh application in this regard on February 25.

The court heard the application today and allowed the SAD chief to go abroad from February 29.
