BJP opposes rail budget for Orissa, resorts to rail roko

Bhubaneswar, Feb 27 (UNI) Train services were affected in Orissa as the ruling BJP today demonstrated at various railway stations in protest against ''injustices'' meted out to state in the Railway Budget.

East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources said, ''Train services have been affected at Golantra, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar and Kerejanga stations.'' The 220/219 Palasa-Bhubaneswar-Palasa, 234 Brahmapur-Cuttack, 234/233A Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack, 3CP/4CPCuttack-Paradeep-Cuttack, 207B/208B Bhubaneswar-Khalikote-Bhubaneswar passenger trains and 8411/8412 Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Intercity express trains were cancelled and more than 20 trains were running late from its scheduled time.

The activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, BJP youth wing, and the activists of the Kalinga Sena sat on the track in different railway stations and disrupted the movement of train.

BJP National Council Member and senior party leader Ramachandra Kar said a meeting held at the Bhubaneswar railway station by the BYJM, decided not to allow Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and Minister of State for Railways N Rathwa to enter the state.

The meeting also decided to stage demonstration if any union minister visited the state.
