Army to continue operations against Kuki militants
Imphal, Feb 27: The Army will not allow individuals indulging in illegal activities, despite the signing of Suspension of Operation (SoO) Agreement with some of the Kuki groups in Manipur.
PRO of PIB (Defence Wing) today said, ''The Indian Army has no SoO pact with the Kuki Liberation Army(KLA), since it had split into various groups and has no recognised leadership.'' To substantiate the claim that the Army was operating against the militants, the PRO said the Army has apprehended 42 Kuki insurgents since last January.
The PRO further stated that troops of 57 Mountain Division had arrested a Kuki National Front(KNF)(P) cadre, when he was carrying out extortion at Motbung under Senapati district earlier.
