25 sentenced to life for mass murder
Bhuj, Gujarat, Feb 27 (UNI) A court here today convicted 25 people, including two women, and sentenced them to life imprisonment holding them guilty for the murder of nine members of a joint family in 2001.
Fast track court additional district Judge M T Bhatt convicted the 25, while acquitting 21 others.
A total of 48 people had stood accused for murdering nine members of a joint family over a land dispute on June 13, 2001 at Surbavandh village in Rapar taluka of Kutch district. Two of the accused had, however, died while the trials were in progress.
