WB road project ; land acquisition to be completed by March
Bhubaneswar, Feb 26 (UNI) The process of land acquisition for widening 204 km road under the World Bank-assisted Orissa State Roads Project will be completed by March 2008.
Official sources here said the work on Anandpur-Bhadrak- Chandbali (95 km), Berhampur-Taptapani (41 km) and Bhawanipatna- Khariar road (68 km) is scheduled to start from April this year.
The roads would pass through six districts - Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada and Ganjam.
World Bank Project Chief Engineer J M Nayak said about 160 acre of land spreading over 151 villages in these districts would be acquired for widening these roads, adding Rs 9,89,97,000 had already been deposited in this regard.
