Rly budget gets mixed reactions in MP
Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee today described the Railway Budget 2008-09 as a provider of relief to the common man while the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that the state was utterly neglected.
''Of 53 new trains, merely four will start plying from Madhya Pradesh. No provision was made for the Mahoba-Khajuraho and Lalitpur-Singrauli projects. There was no announcement for converting the Bhopal-Mumbai weekly Express into a daily train,'' official sources quoted Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as saying.
On the contrary, Congress state unit President Suresh Pachouri said that fare concesions and reduction in freight charges, especially on fuel, fulfilled public aspirations.
