Reliance Globalcom partners UAE telecom major

Dubai, Feb 26 (UNI) du, UAE's new telecommunications services provider, has signed an agreement to seamlessly interconnect with Reliance Globalcom to offer a variety of domestic data services.

''We are pleased to expand our services by connecting the UAE to the Reliance Globalcom network via a strong regional partner such as du. Our relationship with du is part of a strategy to collaborate with quality service providers and leverage each other's strengths to extend network capability and reach in the region to serve the fast growing needs of our customers,'' said Reliance Globalcom President Punit Garg.

Besides offering bandwidth, strengthening the capacity and resilience of the networks, the strategic agreement will enable du and Reliance Globalcom to jointly offer a comprehensive range of value-added data services from the virtual PoP, which relays calls via third party circuits to the internet provider's central location, a report in the Gulf News said.

Fast emerging services like global ethernet, managed services, IP VPN and MPLS will also be offered under the agreement.

''The strategic agreement will create tremendous synergies for all concerned. It marks a significant step for us towards our journey to become the regional hub as part of our international strategy,'' said du Chief Executive Officer Osman Sultan.
