Rail budget well balanced: Patil
Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra R R Patil has commended Union Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav for presenting a 'people friendly budget'.
In a media release issued here, Mr Patil said the budget has taken care of the needs of people from all sections and is a well balanced one.
He said the safety provision in the trains -- closed circuit TV's, smoke and explosive detectors is highly commendable and will improve the safety standards in the trains.
The release stated that the decision to provide railway passes to girl students and male students upto 12th class will benefit them.
The Railway Ministry's decision to allot funds for Mumbai Urban Transport Project in the next budget and the provision to get local tickets from various places will benefit Mumbaikars, the release added.
