Police officer arrested for taking bribe
Bangalore, Feb 26 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested a police officer of Belgaum for accepting a bribe for showing an official favour.
According to a Lokayukta release, Shivarudrappa Basavanappa Torgal, Assistant Superintendent of Police had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Noorullakhan Meerakhan Pathan to finalise a private case.
Yesterday, Lokayukta police laid a trap and the accused was caught redhanded while accepting the bribe from the complainant.
