PMK welcomes Rly Budget

Chennai, Feb 26 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Founder-Leader S Ramadoss today welcomed the Railway Budget saying it brought cheer to all sections of the people.

In a release here tonight, the PMK leader complimented Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his deputy R Velu for the Budget and said the last four years have been a golden period in the implementation of various Railway Schemes.

With the inclusion of broad guage conversion of Madurai-Bodinayakur Section in the Budget, Tamil Nadu will not have any meter guage section, he said.

Tamil Nadu had received 25 per cent higher allocation compared to last year with Rs 1,327 crore being alloted for the State for implementation of various Railway projects thereby getting a special place in the Budget, Dr Ramadoss said.
