Naxals, police exchange fire in Gadchiroli
Nagpur, Feb 26 (UNI) Two suspected naxalites were seriously injured in an encounter with police in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today.
The encounter took place in Irupdhodari jungles in Kurkheda tehsil of the district when a patrol party was carrying out combing operation in the area this afternoon. The naxalites opened fire at the patrol party, which returned the fire, police said.
The outlaws then fled from the spot. The amount of blood at the spot indicated that two naxalites sustained serious injuries, police said, adding that there were no casualties among the police.
The police later seized two rifles, seven detonators and material of daily use from the spot, police added.
