MNS general secretary Gite, others arrested; released on bail
Nashik, Feb 26 (UNI) Police here today arrested Maharashtra Navnirman Sena state unit general secretary Vasant Gite and nine others for releasing inciting advertisements and promoting enmity between different groups.
Police have registered a case against Gite and other MNS office-bearers including district general secretary Atul Chandak, district president Sachin Thakre, city president Nitin Bhosale, Deokisan Parekh, Suhas Kande, Ratan Kumar Icham, Pradeep Vazre, Sameer Shete, Anil Wagh, Mohan More and Sanjay Gaikwad.
The advertisement, published on February 23, had appealed to local Marathi youths to register their names with the MNS for employment purposes in the industries here.
While Kande and Bhosale were not held today, Gite and the nine others were arrested and produced before a local court which released them on bail after furnishing Rs 5,000 each.
