Lalu promises world class railway station for Secunderabad

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Railways Minister Lalu Prasad today promised to modernise Secunderabad Railway Station through International bidding while announcing the introduction of anti-collision devices to be introduced in Southern, South Central and South Western Railways during the next two years.

Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Express (Tri-weekly) will be among the 10 Garib Raths sought to be introduced by Mr Prasad while Hyderabad-Usmanabad Express (Tri-weekly) Machallipatnam-Bangalore Express (Tri-weekly) figure among the 53 new trains to be introduced.

Among the trains sought to be extended were Tirupati-Nizamabad Krishna Express to Adilabad, Chennai-Bangalore Express to Sri Sathyasai Prashanti Nilayam. He promised to survey for new lines on Srinivaspur-Madanapally and Doubling of tracks on Toranakal-Manuguru, Gooty-Renugunta (allocation 71.25 crore), Raichur-Guntakal (Rs 100.00 crore), Samalkot-Kakinada (allocation 65 crore).

The Gauge conversion on Madanapally- Pakala(227 KM) with an allocation Rs 86.93 crore) was promised in the Budget presented in Parliament today.

Electrification on Nandalur-Guntakal, Guntakal-Pune was promised.

Among the new lines proposed were Kadapa-Bangalore, Yerraguntla- Nossam (allocation 35 crore), Jaggayyapeta- Mellacheruvu (allocation 29.06 crore), Vishnupuram-Janpahad (allocation 5 crore).

The minister promised passenger amenities worth Rs 118.99 crore for South Central Railways (Second highest after Northern Railways).
