Haryana ropes in pvt firms for development works

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (UNI) In order to preserve and enhance the scenic beauty of Panchkula district, the Haryana Government has involved private companies and is also taking many steps for the developmental works.

Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Kataria said said it had become necessary that the administration involved the private companies to have optimum results in making the city and its surroundings beautiful and environmentally healthy.

He earlier presided over a meeting at Panchkula with the members of Municipal Council and officers of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).

He directed the officers of Muncipal Council and HUDA officers to make a list of required works to be done in their respective sectors. He said the related works could be of roads, parks, dividers, round-abouts, dustbins, provisions of parking areas.

He said it was very important to make sure that the divider grills across the roads were in good shape as any two-wheeler rider or persons passing through damaged grills could meet with an accident.

More emphasis should be put on maintaining the greenery on the round-abouts and along the roads as it would improve the environment and minimise the pollution caused by vehicles, he added.

Mr Kataria said that proper place would be ensured for advertisement through banners, posters and hoardings so that the beauty of the city was not hampered.
