Haryana opens seven model farm schools in Sirsa

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (UNI) Haryana Agriculture Department has set up seven model farm schools in Sirsa district to educate the farmers about the new techniques in wheat production introduced by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA).

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that in each of these schools the exhibition of wheat plants at 2.5 acres were set up which were being inspected by the agriculture scientists from time to time.

He said that advice were also given by the agriculture scientists to farmers about new wheat plants so that they could benefit from the new techniques.

He informed that after soil testing, Agriculture Department had provided 1895 soil health cards to the farmers in the district so far. The farmers were advised to take the advantage of soil testing for more yield of crops.

He said that the farmers of Nathusari and Ellenabad blocks were advised to put 25 kg of Neurotop named Potash per acre of land to sow the American Cotton in these areas. Besides this, the farmers were advised to put Urea and DPA manure in order to maintain the levels of Nitrogen and Phosphorous. He said that under the ATMA, about 300 exhibitions were put up so far in the district.
