Force Hyundai to start trade union: CITU
Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, Feb 26 (UNI) The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today appealed to the Union and Tamil Nadu Governments to force the Hyundai management and other multinational companies to allow their workers to form unions.
The CITU, in its State Committee meeting here, stressed the need for starting trade unions to espouse the cause of the employees.
The refusal by the car major's management to allow the workers to start a trade union was met with widespread opposition.
The meeting passed resolutions, demanding the immediate implementation of the Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project, ensuring social security for unorganised labourers and starting welfare board for construction labourers.
