Five labourers killed, three injured in accident

Sonepat, Feb 26 (UNI) Five people were killed and three were injured when the tractor they were travelling in was hit by a speeding cement loaded truck near Bhainswan Khurd village on Rohtak-Gohana highway yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as Nanha Pahalwan and his brother Sunil, Dulit, Dinesh and Bhadka, all belonged to Uttar Pradesh and had come to Sonepat district to work as agriculture labourers.

According to sources, they were returning to their village on a tractor after peeling off the sugarcane in the fields of farmer Rajesh of Mahra village under Baroda police station.

Near Bhainswan Khurd village, no sooner the tractor took a turn to fill diesel from a highway side petrol pump and was hit by the truck.

The truck driver and conductor fled from the spot after the accident. However, police has impounded the truck.

After the postmortem, the bodies of the victims were handed over to their family members.
