Comprehensive security plan for Sri Krishna temple
Udupi, Feb 26 (UNI) A comprehensive security plan has been forwarded to the authorities of Sri Krishna temple in the wake of terrorist threats to the temple, District Superintendent of Police Devajyothi Ray said today.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Ray however clarified that the department had not received any specific intelligence inputs on threats to Sri Krishna temple here and Sri Mookambika temple at Kollur.
He said as a precautionary measure, the police had submitted a comprehensive security plan for the temples.
The temple authorities were asked to install Closed Circuit TVs and metal detectors in the temple. They were also asked to restrict vehicle movements around the main car street.
To a query, Mr Ray admitted that there was movement of naxalites in the thick forests of Western Ghat sections in both Karkala and Kudapura taluks in the district.
Around 300 personnel of Anti Naxal Force (ANF) were posted in key locations to check the naxal movements, he added.
