Committee for medical college meets

Puducherry, Feb 26: The three member ministerial committee constituted to go into the setting up of the government medical college here held it's first meeting today.

Two other ministers M O H F Shajahan and Malladi Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Health Secretary and Director of the government medical college Dr.Ananthakrishnan attended the meeting, chaired by the health minister E.Valsaraj, .

The meeting discussed issues like amount spent for the construction of the college buildings so far, estimated plan and ways and means to remove bottlenecks if any.

It may be noted that a a revised estimate of Rs 823 crore was given for the construction of the medical college, for which there was opposition from different quarters.

Following this, the three member committee under Mr Valsaraj was constituted.
